don't think it's a fossil. I have found similar pieces here in MO. is it heavy or lite for it's size?

It's not real heavy. It weighs 14oz. Dimensions are maybe 3"x3"x5"

I think I'll take a slice off the end and have a peek inside. I don't know if it will help but I'll post more pictures afterwards.

Thanks Mackaydon. It does look like it has some kind of flow patterns on it. Also the location I found this was in lower mid Michigan.

Geez I hadn't realized how long it has been since I updated this post!!! Should I post a new one? Anyhow I finally got this rock cut and took a slice out of it but was wondering how to prep it so that the new cuts would show more detail? Any suggestions would be great so I can post a pic of it. Thanks in advance and HH

We've been hanging for a year man!
You want to see more detail?
Take your nice slice, and smash it with your hammer!
Whole bunch of detail. Send pics
Just joking. Posts surfing here.
I was thinking petrified palm and volcanic something or another.
