looks like silver plated not sure what it is. Any ideas?

That kind of looks like a napkin ring from late 1800's or early 1900's. Just a guess.

At that diameter, could it be a decorative ring for a walking cane? Cool find, Sub

Why do you think it's plated? Is there silver plate flaking off? Is there obvious green corrosion showing? In your pics it just looks like dirty silver.
