Finally some rain, it has been sooo dry and hot around here.
I decided to hunt a 1930’s house this morning, the plan was to spend
about 2 hours checking it out before I had to go into to town.
Well I got to hunt maybe 30 to 40 minutes, I had 7 different visitors stop by
Just to shoot the breeze with me. If I go back in the morning I am taking a couple of chairs along , I got tired of standing. I knew all the folks that stopped by, mostly older farmers including my dad (75years old) and I learned several things about an area about 300 yards from the house I was hunting. There once was an old log cabin plus a Post Office across the round. Well enough typing, my best find was a 1947 dime and 5 wheaties all from the 40’s the rest is newer clad. Plus a couple of tokens 1960 ice cream with a football schedule on the back.
I cleaned the ice cream token and it is a 1951 Dixie ice cream token. It has Eastern Ky University football schedule on the back.
