Minelab eTrac ~ DetectorPro Pocket Uniprobe
I went to lunch with a co-worker today downtown. After we ate I realized I had some time to do some detecting before getting back to work. So I found a little area that I hadn't covered before . . . . . after digging a clad quarter and a couple Memorial cents I got a nice 90-92 VDI reading on my XLT. . . . pinpointed at 6 inches deep . . . . assuming it was a big piece of junk but hoping for treaure I dug real careful like . . . . . . . . out popped a 1944-S Walking Liberty Half!! WOOHOOO ~ and I didn't scratch it!

Dirty from being in the ground I didn't think much about the condition . . . . . I got home and gently cleaned it up . . . . .I'm glad I decided to take a picture of it before I cleaned it ~ WOW, she sure is pretty! It's cool to see the difference in the before & after pictures.

It's the nicest Walker I've ever found! It's actually only the third Walker I've ever dug.

Thanks for looking

The picture is a little grainy but I can tell that Walker has very little wear. Very nice fine. Enjoy. ;D

Hey OC , Great find , the walker is at the top of my silver coin wish list this year (and every year actually)

Now just exactly how did you clean that baby ? Thanks , Argentium.

Neil,

Wow that sure cleaned up nicely. It must have been just about brand new when it took its 64 year long dirt nap.

Hope to see you again soon,

Mike

Hi Mike! How'd you do after I left you today? You had dug a couple wheat cents by the time I left.

Great find, and in very nice condition!

Steve

Sweeeet big silver!!! Yours is much nicer than the one i dug last month. I attached a picture cause mine was also a 44 and my first WL! Great job!!!

I only clean common date silver coins like this . . . . . . in my hand, just a little baking soda and water ~ make a paste ~ gently rub the coin in the paste until its clean, and then rinse. It's just that easy!

But again ~ I'd NEVER do this with a key date or semi-key date, or a very high grade silver coin.

way to go, she is a pretty one

Beautiful coin. WTG

Man, don't they look great coming out of the ground?! I vaguely remember that feeling. Good stuf!

Now I have to ask, you take your metal detector to work? and on your lunch hr too? holey moley you are one dedicated man.

I usually keep my detector in my car ~ but not as much in this hot summer weather ~ I'm sure how hot it gets in the car it's not good to store it there.

I'm an on-site property manager ~ I live where I work, so I always have my detector close. And every Wednesday I go to lunch with my co-workers downtown . . . . . I pack up my detector into my car just incase I have some time to detect before I have to get back to my office. The end of the month is very slow, so I take extended lunches to do more detecting!

OMG how sweet is that :o!!! The walker really looks like it was just dropped. What a find, what a lunch break. I guess lunch was paid for. The only notable silver I have found so far is a 1916 merc dime. There's more silver out there some where. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Walker!! Great condition and a great find!
