any others out there trying to make bedrock, dryland or wet.
heck i would like to see some others at work.
its really nice to see the cool water shots, helps to keep us going down here in the land of HOT................

I would so iike to find a hidden spot like that up here in north state, well actually if this drought keeps up I'm sure we will. If I can get my wounded butt up to the claim I'll get some pictures of our latest find. On an off shoot of the main creek channel one of the guys found a wooden sluice (so far about 20' long) buried about 4'-6' deep. We've all stepped to the side to watch him work it so it will be fun and interesting to see what he finds as he uncovers it.

2 feet to bedrock for me and that's a round river worn rock at the bottom -- lot's of very fine gold that has not moved very far
2feet.webp
Second spot I've been working gold has been good -- not at bedrock yet.

Can't wait to see some pics...

Oh man that's another good looking hole! We are twisted little monkeys for sure when a hole in the ground gets ya that excited. Are you guys drywashing or recirc. sluicing?

Drywashing for me.

I hope your friends sluice find, turns out like Reeds discovery some years ago.... take lots of pics with all geo coding off.

Oak, I'm glad you said that, how do you turn those off on an Iphone?

Looking good Herb!

I hate to say it, but when I first saw the thread title I thought it might be another missive from our favorite new poster here. Thought he/she (nobody knows for sure) was asking one of their questions from out of left field.

That hole reminds me of a scene from Prospectors on the Weather Channel.

That is some serious work right there.

Settings. Privacy. Location services. Then turn off the slider for Camera.

Getting back on track...

Herb, are you working at night vs. fighting the daytime heat? I know it stays
hot at night there, but it's got to be a few degrees cooler!

Unfortunately, bedrock in my valley is about 80' down, but there are some
areas where bedrock has pushed up over the centuries. I need to learn
more about how to locate gold ore in those areas.

Although we've been in a massive heat wave for the past couple
months, today it barely made 67F...drizzled a bit too.

Be ordering me a new bleeper (as you call 'em) in the next couple days.
Just trying to decide if I'm going to get the FoRs Core, or FoRs Gold.
Planning a trip late this fall; not sure if I'll get that far South, but if I do
you can bet I'll be pitching a tent in your driveway...:occasion14:

GT, do you have any pictures of how your moving them monster rocks?

:laughing7: You are some wild and crazy guys for sure....but....dangerous to the max...lotza luck and please always err on the side of caution.John

Closer to china! Still have bedrock dreams for this hole!

For got the picture lol
