You really bring it to the table! That is drop dead beautiful. I love the "tiger stripe" pattern in the blade. The points are great as well. Keep it up!

Unbelievable. curious have you guys have run a pit to see how long an occupation you had? Does it go back past the buffalo culture and do the tools change any? Nice find sir. Thanks for sharing them.

Thanks and no we've done very little digging. But we are do find points (to many to be coincidence) that date back at least 6000 years. Also the types and styles of scrapers we find as well as the variety of pottery styles give some indication of very long occupation. We also know that the site was abandoned around 1740. Steve is more knowledgeable than I an about dating points and scrapers.
I personally think the site was occupied and re-occuppied many times. I think when the resources in the area began to deplete, they would move away for a couple generations and than return after the area recovered.

T Witko is right
the only thing we have done other than surface hunting is examining a small section of caved in creek channel which caves in a little each year
we found stratification 6 feet deep on the edge of a vertical bank on one side of the old creek channel

edit:
i have known Twitko and Russy for over 26 years which is when i first started taking care of this site
but we got connected and started hunting at this site many years less (about 5 yrs ago) we are remnants of the 'old hippie days'
we still retain some of our old habits and beliefs..........now "we are livin' the dream"

Yes and not difficult rules to follow because there's still lots to find just walking the field. We very spoiled. :) As I've said before " it always something and it usually something pretty or unusual."
