Man's gold chain and girls gold ring

Here's a pic of the 20 inch gold chain that I mentioned in my previous post titled "Ladies Gold Ring". This chain was found in the same park as that beautiful ring. Had a lobster claw clasp put on the chain after this picture was taken, didn't trust the original clasp(shown) because it was open when I found it. The lady in the jewelry store said this chain would sell for $900 - $1100 in her store. But I saw one just like it on the internet for $550, so who knows. Also the girls gold ring in this pic was found near the chain that same day. The chain was found using All Metal mode, wouldn't have found it in Disc. mode. Good thing I switched to All Metal when I did. In trashier areas I use Disc. mode, set near minimum. Been to that park only four times, going back ASAP depending on the weather. Gotta be more goodies there. Oh yeah, I discovered that park and many others using Google maps.

Hey DrJoe.

What kind of detector do you use? I use a Tesoro at times and if I turn the disc. down low just to keep the foil out, I can still find small gold items. Will yours still discriminate the chain out even on low discriminate settings?

When the chain was found in All Metal mode I checked it in Disc. and

I got just a very short beep. So I say that I would have missed or ignored it in Disc. mode. All Metal gave a big fat signal. I use a Cortes, and I make sure I dig all low numbers, especially when the IRON bar is tall and steady. Discrimination is kept at near minimum.
