@DanMcG me neither... my marbles were cheap cats eyes by the dollar bag !! We shot them with sling shots and wrist rockets.

Yeah, I have a few marbles I got from my dad, and he was born in 1903,
I recognized just one, the red/blue marble, as one of them from grade school days in the 1950's
Thanks for the link

@eyemustdigtreasure your right this was a very pleasant treasure to find....and a cache also !! Its been alot of fun so far ..... I've really enjoyed learning some more about marbles, and I've really enjoyed the beauty of each one....seems like each one is a little gemstone....I had only found a handful before this, and all of a sudden 40 at once !!

What a story that marble cache could tell, huh?
My marble collection went directly to my son and his family, and the few I find while out MD-ing,, I place on top of some of my medicine bottle lips. My favorite is a clay marble......

@unclemac
I have struggled finding them here in the keys. I find almost all my marbles in the bahamas where the hatien migrant class still play marbles quite a bit. I met 2 young men who guided me through some bahamian caves and they were playing marbles when I met them !! Over there older marbles can be found still. I also used to find quite a bit in the carolinas.....seems marbles was a popular game in the carolinas.
