Maybe a 2009 summer hunt

Goldie, I'a afraid that I haven't heard of any of the 4 parks you mentioned. Where are they located?

Hey all!

Spring is getting closer.

Anyone ready to pick a spot for an April or May hunt and just start to get going on this?

Planet, did you and DantheMan have a spot in mind? Or are we leaning now toward Houghton Lake or Battle Creek?

I'm up for anything, but am afraid we will all talk about it until it kinda fizzles out.

Anyone ready to commit?

It would be great to meet all of you!

Thanks,
Mark

i can go to either place.. battle creek has so much history that's not really publicized. i even have a cousin buried at some military cemetery there, not sure the name. just found out from doing a family tree thing.. or houghton lake is still good... i don't have a preference, but mark i would still like to go by your area and near thunder bay with my tiger shark...I Can say I'm 100% into this on going, i haven't heard from Dan the man or Saginaw Ian in a while... Dan is good with mapping and I'm sure he probably Had a few things in mind. but remember Dan is doing a spring hunt in northern oakland county for us, unless something happened i have been out of the loop a little since i had to have 3 surgery's in the last 2 months LOL happy new year mike. too funny i told the surgeon yesterday if he had to something Else i was going up north with my metal detector and jumping off a cliff.. I'm safe to say I'm done with surgery till august with my back...But I will be in touch with a few people here this summer i have a lot of trips planned from port Huron to porcupine mountain to Florida all car travel.. I will try to get a hold of Dan with in a week or 2 And remember I'm not good with planning i just go and do it. that's why i posted that anyone intrested could help or even do suggestions and we pick a few places and just vote on it. since the economy has dropped I'm pretty sure we all could find cheap camp grounds or lodging anywhere this summer.... we do need to figure this summer hunt out still and prepare for Dan the mans spring hunt which i believe will be a great time, i been out under trees and brush and Dan would show me things and ask me if i thought of that, and would tell him no. and i wouldn't of known it was there. I guess lets get the spring and summer hunt planned and we will worry about a fall hunt later LOL...
P.S. (im not good with grammar so if this hard to understand we can decipher this)

i dont have kids at home so let us know i am limited on vac. time and don,t want to screw up my job so traveling from jax co to still have time to hunt on a 4 day wkend st. ignace would be about my limit as far as travel. you guys decide and we will be there

i have to get through the spring hunt first i also am traveling with ian to ct for the larry cissna grd so when i get back and have a good handle on the spring hunt set up , we can get something going for mid summer or fall, I have a line a few ghost towns that are not on any of the books maps or web sites, you can't beat talking to old folks when your in those areas, i spend a bit of time sledding in the winter and i always run into old timers when traveling around up north.
I see it going like this
set up a roster of who may be interested, then pick an area or try to keep it central to most attending, there are spots everywhere , you just have to know how to find em
