Found on my new permission of 800 acres . on the last remaining stubble of the year - l was just thinking that the field l was on was a bit of a washout, and the very next signal at only six inches deep and remarkably in perfect condition for something that fragile and around 600 years old..

You know the drill, kiss it goodbye for 18 months. My bets, are that a Museum will show interest, up until the point they have to pay, hoping your donate it & when you don't your get it back. Unless of course you do donate it..lol In which case the whole thing speeds up.

So why do you guys go this route? Does Helen certify / verify these old artifacts? Or is it law? Just curious....great ring!

Finds that are classed as treasure ie Over 300 years old and are of gold or silver have to be reported to the local Find Liaison Officer. (mines Helen)
who sends the find off to to the British Museum to the experts who record it. its long winded and boring but the law . Here is a link to how it works, as l say boring.
