Nice token, Fats! Unfortunately, the folks at the Hyde Park Hotel Pharmacy knew good and well where they were and saw no need to put that information on the tokens they had made. Bad news for us! Maverick tokens (like this - they don't say where they are from) are a real challenge to attribute with any degree of certainty.

There were and are quite a few places named Hyde Park, plus a lot of places and businesses named Hyde Park. I have a fairly modern maverick that is from the Hyde Park Hotel in Chicago, but that may or may not be the same place as yours. Yours looks like the product of the Albert Pick company in Chicago, but they made tokens for all over the US and (probably) Canada.

Tokens like this were fairly popular ca. 1910. Pharmacists often gave a token to a person bringing in a prescription to be filled - it kept the customer from hanging around and bothering him while he filled the prescription by sending the customer to the soda fountain instead.

As far as value, without a good attribution, it wouldn't be too high. My guess would be in the $10 range, but only putting it on an Internet auction site would tell for sure. There may be some people collecting that denomination (Good For 1 Soda) who might be more interested in that aspect of it than the name of the business.
