Met Benjamin today picture added

I visited a small town today.The first bank I went into I could see some old silver halves in her tray.I asked her if I could buy them and asked if she had any rolls.She didn't have any rolls but sold me 3 Franklin's and 3 40%ers.It made my day.I added a picture .I love this hobby.

That's awesome! I think small town banks are holding a fair amount of Ag. My best score was from a small town bank.

Thanks....Most of the time they don't have them but when they do this is what you usually end up with.

Ya I had to clean them.They were so dirty i couldnt tell what they were.

Nice finds, but always offer to buy all the halves they have. (or all your wallet can afford).

When you get selective, tellers wonder why, and that would be the beginning of the end for this hobby.

I always buy all they have even when I know they are not silver.The less they know the more our gain.I'm still amazed that the tellers don't know what they have when they pick the coins up that have silver and hear them clang together.

I always buy all they have even when I know they are not silver.The less they know the more our gain.I'm still amazed that the tellers don't know what they have when they pick the coins up that have silver and hear them clang together.

I always buy them all also. I just ask if they have any half dollar coins that I could buy. I recently had a teller tell me that she only had loose ones and that there wasn't anything worth having. I said I just wanted all that they had to sell me even if it was just a few. She looked at me like I was a fool and called out the date of each coin as she laid them down. There wasn't anything worth having, but I smiled big, handed over the FRNs and thanked her with feigned enthusiasm. I threw the handful of clad in the dump bucket when I got to the the car and moved on.
