These are the sandals that can detect metal while you walk, allowing you to find buried artifacts while strolling the beach.

A copper coil built into the right sandal is powered via a battery pack that straps to your calf. Using beat frequency oscillation technology, the ring creates a magnetic field; when a metal object is underfoot--up to 2'--it distorts the field and the battery pack alerts you to the presence of metal using a flashing red light and either a gentle vibration or a clearly audible buzz.

Requires one 9-volt battery (not included)--provides up to six hours of use. The sandals have non-skid soles and polyurethane foam footbeds. Black. Sizes M (Men's 7 1/2-9, Women's 8 1/2-10) and L (Men's 9 1/2-12, Women's 10 1/2-13). (1 lb.)

No, but there's a couple of places on the old Natchez Trace I'd like to try a pair. The sites of the inns should have some caches nearby where overnighters hid their money pouches and didn't live to recover them. I know where one inn stood on a section of the original trace, but since the Natchez Trace is a Federal Park you can get into just as much trouble with a detector there as you can in a battlefield park.

Maybe if you can keep your front toes of both feet touching, that would equal a bigger coil and deeper penetration ?

Now that I think about it walking like that and drooling a little will probably keep the cops and other people from bothering you too.

Did you notice if they were made by Minelab ?

If not then probably only 3.5'

Aw....not all women who metal detect are 8 1/2 and larger...get some smaller sizes please... like a 5!!!

I just may get me a pair .... I'll get a large elastic band to put around it to hold it onto my foot!

I would love to get a pair...but they don't have size 5!!! Think I will write the company and see if they can make me a pair and I will test them out!!! Yeah.....

Heck, they can make me two pair for the price of one! LOL
