Hi everyone what is the best metal detector for finding gold? Also can all detectors go under water? If not is there a decent priced detector for Gold that can go under water?

I live in New Mexico so Im constantly searching for Gold off of the Santa fe trail and for Forrest Fenns treasure in the Rockies. And detector you recommend?

You going in water to look for gold nuggets or lost gold jewelry?

Most detector coils are now waterproof, just have to be careful you don't raise coil above controls or water will run down the inside of then shaft and get inside of control box...
