Meteorite found.

So, my father was going through my grandfather‘s estate. After a while, he came out with a bag in his hand, and he handed it to me.

“What’s that?” I said.

He said, “A meteorite.”

He gave it to me.

I am astounded. I never thought I would hold an object from space. I am an astronomer as well as a treasure hunter, so this made me very happy.

How my grandfather got this, I don’t know. Awesome find, nonetheless.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say he (or someone else) purchased it in anchorage in 1996.
