Meteorite strikes Woman

My uncle had a similar experience....a meteorite struck his house in Connecticut, and pierced the roof and corner wall. It ended up out on the wood patio deck where it burned right through the 2X deck planks. It was so hot it burnt right through and dropped under the deck. It caused some good damage and pictures looked like a big bullet hole through the roof and wall. What was left was a fist sized meteorite!! This happened before I was born, or when I was very young. The story is told many times throughout the family. He took the meteorite to a scientific center that specializes in meteorites, and they sliced it 3 times and polished it. Half stayed with the scientist, and the other 2 pieces my uncle got. I got to hold them and inspect them a couple times, and no doubt a cousin or family member has squirreled them away somewhere !!

Lot of eye makeup for that date. Is that chest hair? Drag queen?
Looks like someone you would find laying on a couch at that time of day, so that part of the story is believable.
Not hot enough to burn stuff? You can just touch it?
The roof saved her more that the balnkie. At that mass the roof nearly stopped it?
That size should have leveled the house.
This needs to be searched out, where is this thing today?

as per usual nomenclature matters:
"A meteor is the streak of light produced when a meteoroid enters the Earth's atmosphere and burns up, while a meteorite is a fragment of that meteoroid that survives the journey through the atmosphere and lands on the Earth's surface. Essentially, meteors are what you see in the sky, and meteorites are what you can find on the ground."

The meteorite was formally named as ‘Sylacauga’ and classified as an H4 (High metal) chondrite. It fell as at least three pieces. The Hodges fragment weighed 3.86 kg and was initially confiscated by the Sylacauga police chief who then turned it over to the United States Air Force. There was than a protracted legal battle over ownership, with both the Hodges’ and their landlord Bertie (Birdie) Guy claiming it. Guy ultimately withdrew her claim after the Hodges’ paid her $500.
There had been offers up to $5,000 for it but, by the time the legal wrangling was over, interest had waned and the Hodges’ were unable to sell it on for a profit. Mrs Hodges tired of the public attention and donated it to the Alabama Museum of Natural History in 1956.
The second fragment weighing 1.68 kg was found by a farmer called Julius McKinney the day after the Hodges’ home had been hit and was purchased for the Smithsonian Institute. The McKinneys bought a car and a house with the proceeds.
A third fragment is believed to have impacted somewhere near Childersburg, not far from the Hodges’ home.
