I recently found a coin that is blank on both sides. I know it is Mexican as it reads Independencia Y Libertad on the edge. Measures 27mm x 2mm. I tried google but no luck on copper/bronze. Any ideas on ID ?

Thanks.

That has to be it...thanks Huntsman53. I have no idea why someone would remove the face and back but it is blank.

The coin may have slipped through the Minting process but made it to the Edge Lettering Machine. Therefore, it may be a Blank (Unstruck) Planchet with Edge Lettering and if so, then it could be worth quite a few bucks if certified and graded. The sad thing is, that not being a U.S. error coin or highly sought after European error coin, it will probably not fetch the same prices that they would.
