Nope, you have to have the phone camera the right way up to start with.

On the iPhone issue....it's only an issue when you move the files from an iPhone to a PC (non-Apple device). Even with a PC if you rotate the images, Apples infinite wisdom will still screw up the rotation. I too struggle with that problem, tried various image editors to correct it (online and local) to no avail, and googling the issue there's tons of complaints about it, and that's just the way it is. Very annoying to say the least.
