Detector(s) used
Bounty Hunter Land Ranger
I've been detecting with a bounty hunter Pioneer 505 for a few weeks. It was doing OK, but it seems to be discriminating not so well lately. The low Battery light has not come on, but I am wondering if this thing is working correctly. I really have studied, tested, and read lots of stuff, but I seem to be getting a bit worse. Any thoughts?

Also here's the fun: My wife has no metal detector. I had not found anything at the beach but a penny or two since I got the detector. The other day she came to me with a dime she found lying in the sand. Today she came to me with a dime and a nickel. ARGHHHHHH!!! She found them both lying in the sand a 100 yards apart. sigh. I found nothing. She told me to dig in this big hole where kids had been excavating. I found a dime!!! ARGHHHHH. She is an honest person, so I am certain she didn't salt anything. Am I cursed, or will this pass! HA!

Sounds like you are hunting a beach.Certain areas may have more mineralized and wet sands. ;)

Your lucky day will come..just keep trying. On the Bounty Hunter..my uncle has an older model from the late 1980's and it doesn;t seem to be able cut the mustard either. You may wanna start looking at a different brand.HH...Panz

i have the 202 and in over a year hunting with it the battery light never once came on. I would notice it acting funny and just change the batteries.
I found a number of gold and siver rings, plus many coins, keep at it and you will be finding the good stuff in no time.

I agree, change the battries and try again. The wife has a good eye, maybe you need to take a lesson or two. hehe
HH and don't give up! Your day is coming
