:hello:

After the snow melt I decided to give the Roman Villa field another go 8) knowing the snow would have flattened the crop and the soil, so a few finds might show :P

Managed a few scrappy Bronzes(posted the best) and another 2 hammered :headbang: two cut halfs both short cross, also a nice little seal, can't decide if its Roman or later :icon_scratch:

First Gold of the year, hopefully not the last, and hopefully not the oldest, it's part of a Gold cuff-link, had a unusuall Alloy Token :help:and a couple of Bronze ones made the day worth while.Hopefully tomorrow will bring more of the same

I have also posted a picture of some of the building material used on the Villa, you can see the stones and flints used in the making of what looks like concrete.

I could look up the 1797 halfpenny Token if you wish?

The Vessical Seal is ecclesiastical & circa 14th Century (priest/monk holding book).

Two shortcross you lucky dog. Dad is away & I'm going nowhere this weekend :(
Yea you could if you like, give us the name of that Token book again would you  I couldn't make up my mind about the seal :icon_scratch: with it being small, and the figure I couldn't quite make out, but it does look like a figure reading a book :)

SS

Funny, how you can read it once you see the book: (the provincial token - coinage of the 18th century - dalton & hamer 1910-1918 - updated - Davisson)

Ship - 'Liverpool Halfpenny'
Liverpool coat of arms - 'Deus Nobis Hac Otia Fecit' / '1797'

The Seal has a couple of medieval 'E's :icon_thumright:
Cheers you beat me to it....found one like it. I was just to lazy before to look ;D

SS

as I had my hallmark book open for another poster, thought I would add your silver fob for a watch is Birmingham 1903.
 Cheers...it's a nice little fob that one, should do well on ebay :laughing7:

Silver Searcher you sure know how to get the new year started :hello2: :headbang:

4-5 hammered so far for the year?
Four Silvers IS....three of them Hammered :icon_thumleft:

SS

Last year I counted flat track coins and couldn't keep up with your hammered count ;D

Awesome finds and look forward more SS 2010 finds :hello2:
I know there are a lot more Hammered on the Villa field :P but it's just a very large area, mostly down to look from now until the crop grows to high, if it's dry tomorrow I will drop back on it, so maybe more Hammered to show :icon_thumleft:

SS

Save some for me in the summer SS :D
Unless you come late September...that field will be three feet high in Barley

SS

For the summer to you two come to the beaches of Spain to search for gold and sunbathing .... ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'll have some of that, I'm already thinking about a fully submersible detector, because I am going to do the rivers and beaches this year :icon_thumleft:

Don't worry about me SS, after tomorrow I might just have to change my name! Old mushroom patch will have to think
of something else to pick on me for.....like my clubbed foot, or my unusually large forehead :-\
