Military Survival Kit ?

I was wondering what war this is from ? The bag looks like new - Viet Nam maybe ? or older ?

Is it OD green? Almost everything was OD (Olive Drab) when I went in just after Viet Nam.

Bennzadrine, Quinine, Malaria... sounds like the Pacific theatre. I dont believe quinine was used past the mid-40's for treatment of malaria. (I use it for the prevention of cramps on long hikes, works great). Maybe that is why you seem to have two different kinds of pills for treatment of Malaria.

My guess would be early WWII, or before, based on the use of Quinine and the web pouch color.

Here's a picture of it next to 1956 canteen cover . It's a lighter color green . Kinda brownish green . Is that kahki?
The inside removable pouch is light brown .

it looks aussi to me but is there any numbers or marks on the zipper pull or the snaps? There should be numbers on the snaps and some times on the zipper pull. besides in Nam all out stuff was marked US unless it was what we used in special forces.(recon stuff the Govt says we did not do ) and the inside color is wrong for U.S if your pic is accurate. so I guess either britt or aussi and it could south pacific. ww2 and are the bottles plastic or glass that helps id the years also.

i have a shelter half...real close to that color...it is marked US, manufacture initials, & 1918...
is the liner on that bag removable? no spec marking inside the lid?
it looks brand new.

Yes, those are matches , there is a bottle of iodine also . The zipper-pull is marked MADE IN USA TALON

Benzedrine in possession, will land you in trouble with the law if in possession with out a prescription..

That looks like a survival kit carried by bomber pilots in WWII. The Bennies were to keep the pilots awake and alert on long missions in the B17 or B24s. Monty
