Recently I have been trying to figure out where the tokens with this ornament (on the lower part of the obverse - the thing that looks to me like a twin-engine airplane but is really a circle with some fancies coming out each side). I have yet to see a non-maverick token with that ornament - maybe since it is where the town and state would go, they just used the ornament for mavericks. I suspect that it is from a Chicago manufacturer, but haven't gotten enough data to tell. There are attributions for various ones in IL, WI, MN, IN, & MI that I have seen. Many years ago one fellow decided they were from the Barnard company in St. Louis, but the MO cataloguer says that all of the St. Louis mavericks are part incuse, not all incuse. The ones I have tracked are from about 1892 to 1905. Your token is not in the Reiter dairy token book. It is going to take a bit of luck to pin it down.
