Hi TN , Mill Hunt 8 Every dog gets his day ::) well almost , rained out early . Few hours Thursday and today , Fri 4-8-11 , two searches in sun and rain produced mostly buttons and a few relics . The 18th century mill is swarming with ticks & bugs , but I will spray " Deep Woods Off " and destroy all them suckers to get a find like the button in fourth pic , a 13 th Infantry Regimental; 1798-1802 Period. US Regulars , one piece pewter . Pic 2 , humpback buckle circa 1860's , Thanks Quindy . 1819 large cent dug but AU ;D . Thanks for stopping in :headbang: CMD Dawg

Re: Mill Hunt # 8

Nice, very nice.

Re: Mill Hunt # 8

That site never fails to produce Dawg. That's a super button and you also dug a "humpback buckle" as we call it. We dig those in early CS camps. Very nice hunt, Quindy.

Nice variety there... :icon_thumright:

Great bunch of finds but that 15 Regt button is killer! Tough to find them in that condition :o

More great Finds!
I managed a 'United States 10' not nearly as nice as yours :hello2:
Love that era of LCs, good condition!
Congrats on your buckle & interesting button

As usual, great finds! Let's not overlook the sporting button. I have one with the same backmark. They are circa 1840' to 1850's.

Great hunt pictures and finds. You have pulled out some real nice relics from that spot. Enjoy

Great Hunt Dawg 8) I'm liking the US button, first one I've seen here :headbang: Btw, I'm not seeing an 1850's sporting button :dontknow: if youre talking about the 6th and 7th pictures, that is a 20th century button.

not sure what the design represents, but sporting buttons generally have a single animal on them.. and this one looks about mid-1900's
