I called in to minelab today to ask a question . The woman answered the phone and could not answer my question. She did tell me that Minelab was a USA company and all there detectors are made right here in the USA. Right then was when i knew what was going on. Minelab is doing the same thing that the computer companys are doing. They hire a company to read answers to you out of a scripted book . She must have just took it for granted every thing about minelab was a USA company. Then she told me why don't you look it up on our web site they have all about minelab there and you can find all your answers there. I don't know if they hired people to work in there place in Las Vegas to answer questions or hired one of those companys like the computer companys have to answer questions. Very dissappointing.

She could be a new hire, or someone who knows nothing about Minelab...... I would suggest talking to Ena.... :icon_thumright:

Sometimes you get someone that knows what they are doing and sometimes you don't. Since Sandy left things have been going down hill. At least we don't have to "Press ONE of English" and then get a Indian accent dude in India. I hate calling Microsoft Tech Support. :BangHead: :violent1:

it kind of depressing when you buy their product and yet they have NO support

True but that has nothing to do with the original post.

The only thing I care about is having a properly working detector and could care less if monkeys were building them on the moon. Start looking around the house and see how many other things aren't made in the US.

Monkeys making it on the moon would definitely increase the "cool factor" though.

I have owned Minelabs the last 4 years, still own 2 Excals that are customized, and 2 Sovereign GTs, one of which is customized. I have had nothing but great customer service since day one, both with th detectors I sent in for problems, (one was my fault), and received prompt replies through emails on questions asked.......
