Minelab Explorer Question

I am not really familiar with the Minelab Explorer line of metal detectors. A friend of mine told me he knew someone selliing a Minelab Explorer XL, and asked me if I was interested. What is the XL version of the Explorer? I wasnt able to find a picture of one. Is that the first Explorer version, as I see the Explorer II being sold now? What is a good price to pay for a used XL version?

XL? No, XS is the right name for it.
It's the first explorer. The newest is the Explorer SE Pro.
Then after came the E-Trac, which according to some isn't really a explorer while other claim it is another updated explorer.

As for a good price, I don't have a clue.

There's one on e-bay right now, slightly used in box. just the basic kit with recharge battery, manual, car charger and wall charger. there's only one bid and it's 3 hrs from over. $549

I still prefer the XS and started using them shortly after the release.

Based on the general consensus, i would definitely consider the XS as a serious contender for a backup if not a primary machine to use. Still working out this e-trac right now though and i have a sovereign XS2 Pro. For now it'll have to do.
