I found a new site the other day on a topo map. It's a mine site that dates to the California Gold Rush thru the 1930's-1940's. I didn't find any precious metals (other than some brass ;)). I did find a larege spike about 10 inches long. One half of a two piece pick axe with the picks broken off. These were made during the gold rush era in two pieces forged together. The other wedge shaped piece I'm not sure of. Lots of square nails a few pull tabs and some shotgun shells. Hopefully I can get back there soon as I just started this site.
