Just some things over the years that haven't been identified. Maybe some different eyes can help. Iron piece with little hole in it looks like part of a gun ,idk. Object I'm holding appears to be cast iron. One end is threaded and body had teeth of some sort. I know the one piece is probably a keyhole cover. Has "A. Thompson" on it. Other 2 1/2" x 3/8 is a solid chunk of lead. No idea about that one or the other 2 brass pieces. Thanks for looking

Even modern versions are made with no "spike"... or whatever.

Just a possibility... FOR>.. it it way too large for a padlock.

Here is a modern one you can buy... first search.... so with that said... yes MOST do have a peg ... errr or "spike" as Gare mentioned... but there are those that do not.

Had an old bayonet with leather scabbard that had a similar piece at the top to keep it open and protect the leather I suppose. I repeat "similar". I sure as heck have no expertise, not even a little knowledge, in this area. Just brought it to mind.

Scabbard piece seems to be likely. I'll happily agree. Thanks sandog

the round lead piece is most likely the weight from a clock pendulum. I agree with broken scissors or candle snuffer for the broken item. Can we see pics of both sides of the crescent shaped thing?
Crescent brass is plain on other side but I'll get pic when get home from work.

I believe this picture is an old rat tail comb minus the steel rat tail.

I can see both those ideas. Thanks for looking

I have a buddy who found a comb exactly like yours, except his has all the teeth.

It was found out on an old cotton plantation that later had share croppers living there.

I believe it is a hair straightener.

Similar…..
