I've picked up a couple of pairs of earings at yardsales that are unmarked except they say Monet on the back. Are these fake, plated, real? Also one pair that is just marked Thailand? Also does anyone know what year Canada stopped using silver in their quarters?

what year Canada stopped using silver in their quarters? 1968

monet is fake, very collectible, nice costume jewelry

I agree with cntrydncr1 and add most of avon jewelry too. But, I have seen Avon sterling so double check for that. It will be marked.

I forget the year that CN stopped making silver coins but it was 68 like rich said but if I remember correctly during the transition a lot of silver ones were made. (dimes or quarters or both) When I see Canadian coins that are of that age and look like silver I pull out a very tiny magnet. It it sticks I don't want it.
