36 years i've been collecting - i sold and gave away 3/4 of my finds - but still have 30 frames of my favorite artifacts.

Yep, lucky i got started before the no-till farming. I lost a lot of sites over the years to new houses and to land that's not farmed anymore.

I remember in Illinois all the miles and miles of farm land with the black dirt, I swear, two feet deep. When the houses went up the first thing the developers would do would be to scrape off all the good dirt and cart it away only to sell it back later to the city suckers that bought their new track houses and needed expensive "garden dirt". Can you imagine what else was scraped up with that dirt?
