More Fort Ord finds

[missoiula4me]

First three photos are a replica of an earlier find. This time it's undamaged. I appears to have a rail to slide on to something.

The second item reminds me of an end cap to a barrel. There aren't ant manufacture's markings. So it's just a guess.

yep...a .45 barrel bushing...I DIDN'T DROP IT!!!!!

hand grip looks like an old Thompson...didn't do that either...
if you find my misspent youth...I feel I lost it around there...

since you are hunting out there...there was a vc village set up...lots of guys dropped things in the "rice paddys"
most of the hoochs had objects hidden in there to train us on how to find them...

find that village...

I beleive the "Reliable",is a cable splice of sorts...there has been pictures of it in use posted here before...perhaps by Bigcy?

I think Kuger is close, if not right on, suggesting a cable splice. It appears to be made by the same folks that mde these;
Vintage Telephone Fuses by albrechtsantiques on Etsy

I would agree that is a 1911 barrel bushing

Think I lost the barrel bushing there in 1960 lol. But was there then.

The barrel bushing is likely it. Some of the guys on our SWAT team had 45's and it sees I remember the item during post training clean up. I'll send it to them and get confirmation. The cable splicer is the second time I've heard that guess. Sorry I didn't put a size reference. It's only an inch long (plus or minus).

Won't put solved till I g confirmation.
