Another cool find from my backyard. I got a nickel hit and dug a nice plug about 6-8 inches deep. Out popped two 1962 nickels. I thought it was strange that they were right next to each other. As I was placing the dirt back in the hole, I happened to see a small piece of dirt that looked odd. It was nice and round and at first I thought it was a button. But as I picked it up, the dirt fell off and it was a tiny ring! It was pretty deep in the hole and looks very old. I cannot tell if it is gold because it has a layer of crust on it. It has 3 small stones.

Nice finds! My property is always a detecting "fall back" or "fix." ha! I converted a 1960's era Nazarene Church into my home. There quite a few visitors over the years. The downfall, is that very few coins date before the 60's. But, the hunt is what counts for me.

That's funny Blueblood! Mine usually detects my wife getting mad at all the holes! My house was built in 1940 but the property has yeilded finds from the Civil War, WWI and WWII. I have hit it hard, but there are still some nice hits I have not checked out. You can see some of my other finds in my other posts.
