Seen a couple briefly in British Columbia back in the late 70s.

There were several sightings in IL a couple of yrs ago. One was a trail cam pic so not much doubt about it. I haven’t heard of any being seen lately.

Beautiful image. I've seen them only three in the wild. Two times it was a big cat crossing the road ahead of me. I rushed ahead and pulled over to see if I could get a glimpse of them and hopefully get a picture. I wasn't able to, because both times they just vanished into the brush. The third time I was just coming into Red River, NM around 9pm where I was spending the night. There was a roadkill deer off the side of the road and a rather large cat was right over that deer carcass and looked right into my headlights and instantly darted off into the darkness.

They're moving into many areas they didn't exist before. People capture them on their ring cameras in the neighborhoods around me every now and then. I believe they travel about through all the old 100+ year old irrigation ditches once those stop running and dry up. They can navigate everywhere without being seen because they're like a network of canyons, that run for miles out of the mountains and all over the front range plains. This is my dog down in a ditch close to my house.

This is true, I've stumbled upon some fresh kills, knew she was close.

In 53 years spent in the hills, I have only seen two. One ran in front of us on the Pikes Peak highway and one below Cripple Creek. Also ran into a lynx below Cripple Creek , only one I've seen in the wild. Had the joy of seeing many Bobcats !!

Apparently we have one around near Ottway TN, I've never seen it, not even on my game camera after living here 14 years but I have seen the bobcats and several black bears. It killed one of our friendly deer that I see every day.

I think one reason back here in the eastern part of the country is the mountain lions are pets and escape.

Once they near maturity, mountain lions no longer make very good pets. Don't know why
anyone would want one as a pet, but I'm sure there are a few.
