Multi-day hunt & buttons was my frenemy! :( But I certainly was not left disappointed

I do not recall ever digging so many buttons and not getting an early marked military! ...was zero for 144 buttons! That being said, it's was an awesome 4 days hunting with a friend, who will post his finds at some point when he has the time.

The better finds from this one for me is the 3 early to mid. 1700s French Marines buttons and 1745 dated bale seal.

A real neat engraved silver button. Is oval shaped.

1796 Draped Bust large cent.

The silver kept showing for both of us, 5 for me including a 1775 2 Reales, my first ever from my regular hunting grounds. Another first...an 1822 British West Indies 1/16 dollar in nice condition coming out of a farm field. It was sure a great time, and that pretty much wraps up my Spring season. I feel I need a break anyway (not really, but that's how it goes) :)

Even without the militaria (although that ''LD'' silver piece might still be related to Light Dragoons) you had an impressive harvest of coins. The quality of Spanish you pulled in the last year is impressive to say the least and that colonial 1/16 is something I didn't even know existed. Congratulations!

First of all, that is an insane amount of finds. I can't believe all of those coppers and buttons! That could be someones metal detecting career and it would be impressive. This was over 4 days?? Wow. You said that you didn't find any military buttons but you also said that you found 3 French Marines buttons?

He stated he had no ''early marked military'' buttons, the French are plain types.

Hi, wow that was a great hunt with a lot of nice old finds. Congrats:occasion14:
