Finished up a Garda nickel box about an hour ago. Saw a buffalo ender when i tore the box open. Ended up being a well worn 1914. Box had one more buffalo but it was a 1st for me. A 1913 type 2 which was my 1st ever 1913 buffalo with a readable date. Box also had 2 war nickels and a 1970-S proof. Thanks for reading. HH-MM2

That was a great box. And that 1913 is a T1 and its a beauty with a full horn. That looks as nice as the 1913D T2 someone else found recently. I would say that's in XF+ condition. I found two 1913 T1's near full dates last year myself but neither as nice as that one. Congrats on a great find!

Amazing! Great buffalo's keep popping up. I haven't found a nice one in a while. Well done.

Very nice buffalo. A great old coin in great shape for still being in circulation! Nickel proofs are cool. Found my first last summer.

That's a very solid box. Great job! I hope you can find more from that batch.

Congrats on one sweet box. Now if you could find a silver buffalo....

Awesome buffalo I'm yet to find one in that good of condition.
Also how can you tell proof from business strike on the 1970s

Very nice box there MM2! Thanks for showing us! HH, Maverick.

Very nice, MM2. Congrats!

I found that one!

I found that one!

Lol, yes I remember now. I just couldn't remember for sure who it was when I was typing the post. Looks like MM2's coin is in very similar condition to yours from what I remember. Its almost as though they both came from the same collector.

Nice find! Curious, how does one tell the coin is a proof?

I appreciate the comments. The 70s has a mirror surface and a lot of surface marks from being in circulation. I'm seeing a lot of nice nickel finds on this board lately.

The corrosion on that buffalo looks like warpaint. Kinda neat! New variety?? ;)

The 1970 nickel looks like a consistent finish throughout. that would not be a proof. It should have a frosted face on it that is much less shiny than the rest of the coin. YOurs doesn't seem to have that. It "seems" to me to not be a proof, but an AU coin that has a nice shine. Did I miss a frosted face and building on the back??

The surface corrosion on the 1913 came off easily. Almost as if it was green paint.

Great job, Thrusday I will be getting my first box hope I have the luck u did

Some great pulls, that's a really nice 1913!

U sure found two nice buffalo beauties lately. I wonder if both this coin and that beautiful 1928 buffalo u just found came from the same collection. Maybe u can find even more nice ones like them. That would sure be even more incredible lol.

Here's the 1913 T1 I found at the very end of December last year. I was glad to find it in the condition its in with a readable date but it looks like its in pretty rough shape compared to the nice one u found lol. But Im sure not complaining.
