My 2nd Barber Dime--1916s

In nice shape with great details! Funny thing is, I got this box through an error. My pick up bank shorted my order on accident so I drove to another bank and got a box to make up for the one I was shorted. This was the box that had the Barber. What a unusual way to find a Barber.

From the date it sounds like a Mercury dime to ME. Still silver, congrats, Mark

1916 was year in which there were both barbers and mercs. Last year of barbers and first year of mercs. I believe the nickels were same in that 1938 had both buffs and Jefferson.

I've found a single Merc...and still can't believe it.

I simply cannot imagine finding a Barber.

Thanks for the education. I've found over 1,500 silver dimes- maybe 200 were mercs, but never a barber. Congrats, Mark

Congrats on the barber, they are out there, I found 6 of 'em in String/son boxes in 2009. Have not found one since. ffd

Nice going on the Barber. Love to see/find/dig those. It is funny how a person can get lucky sometimes. One week last year my main coin bank wasn't able to spare much for me to search, so I stopped at another bank, just to see if I could get anything from them. I got my first and only box of cents and a box of nickels there. Over 1500 wheaties and 8 IH's. Just because I wanted something more to search. Not a huge value really but fun to find.
