My Best Find Ever

[VOL1266-X]

My friend Modern Miner encouraged me to post this, Today, I was bushogging pastures on my farm when I eyeballed a green ribbon wrapped around a rolled up 8.5x11" sheet of white paper in a pasture. We occasionally find the remains of helium balloons in the fields. I stopped the tractor, untied the ribbon, and read the contents of the note as shown in the pic. Apparently "Austin" recently lost his Grandfather and wrote him a note and sent it skyward toward heaven. Finds like this really put life in perspective. This is definitely my Best Find. rtde3 (Rob) suggested that I always keep that note and I will. I will never try to locate Austin as I hope he will grow up believing the note made it to his Grandfather. HH, Quindy.

Quindy,
Thanks for posting this great find. You can almost picture that poor kid letting that balloon go. I would cherish that letter. Glad you have sharp eyes and made the effort to stop to see what it was. My BANNER vote is in. I hope Grandad is looking down on you.

This also touched my heart.

I think it's wonderful that there is such sweetness in life. We must all try to keep that little child inside each of us alive.

That is priceless!! Bet you had a lump in your throat when you read that note-kind of like I did when I read it.

My sincere thanks to all who looked and replied. I just wanted to share this with everyone and had no idea several members would believe it worthy of Banner. It has no flash, no bling, no monetary value, or is of any historical interest so it's not consistent with a Tnet banner recovery any more than finding a Carson City silver dollar in a shoebox at a deceased relatives home would be. It is what it is and I was not actively seeking this treasure-the treasure found me. HH, Quindy.

And, just the very fact that "it found you" would make it banner worthy in my eyes. What are the odds against it being found by a member of ANY forum who would have the sensitivity to make an open post of it. So far, it's touched a number of lives here.

The gifts of Spirit are worth more than a mountain of gold!!
