My best hunt! Weekend at my grandparent's OLD house in Southern Ohio. Quality Pics!

Hey all

Been looking forward to this trip for a while now. I went to their house Friday after work and came back Monday afternoon. This was by far my best hunt ever and produced coins that were older than my oldest coin even in my lifelong coin collection!

EDIT: I got the video up finally!

First off, here's the house:

Nobody can figure out exactly how old the house was but everyone kinda guessed turn of the century.

Anyway my first day there, I only had about 10 minutes before dark so I ran out there and immediately found this!

'

As you can imagine, I could hardly sleep after that! My previous record was an 1880 Indian Head penny, and I never dreamed that I would find a Large Cent!

Over the next few days I found all of these old coins, all of which (besides the indian head) I had never found before!

I also found some really cool tokens!

At one point I dug a piece of copper then felt my digger hit glass, so I pushed away some dirt and saw this...

So I dug it out and kept digging and found all of this!

If anyone can tell me something about that pocket knife I would be thrilled! I did some research and found out that one of the bottles is a medicine bottle from 1916, and the other is a whiskey bottle from 1939-1942!

Here is the rest of the things that I thought were neat!

Awesome Finds!!! Try cutting the Video into Thirds, or turn everything else off and only compile the video. I have had that problem before too but with videos that are too long and use up too much RAM when compiling.

Thanks for the advice. I have a beastly computer with 32 gigs of ram so I don't think that was the issue lol

I messed with it, wiped bad codecs, and was able to get it to render properly. It's currently uploading, and after it finishes I will add it to OP and post it in the video forum

Wow, that is like a dream hunt, congrats. I too have my grandfathers house I want to do, my mother sold the house about 15 years ago, I went to the new owners and asked permission and they said yes. When my son and I went there that night, one of the sons came out and told me his mother(new owner) changed her mind, she said her husband is sick and we would be upsetting the dogs and in turn bothering the sick man. The son said his parents said to come back in a couple of months and he should be better. When he said a couple of months I felt bad(he must be really sick) Its going to be hard going back and asking, my grandfather built that house in 1932 and ran a egg business starting out. He bought eggs from local farmers and shipped them up to NY. I'm so wanting to hunt that property, I spent allot of time there as a kid.
