Whew I still can't believe it, I was out for less than an hour at our local high school when I got a hit coming in the high 90's on my AT PRO, big rusty items sometimes give this reading. My first thought was maybe a manhole cover covered with grass since the hits were shaping up to look like half a circle. I almost passed it by but then thought hell it might be a silver chain spread out like that, thank God I went for it. I stuck my shovel in the ground not to deep expecting to hit a big chunk of metal but it went in smoothly. So I popped the plug and I almost crapped myself when I seen this huge piece of silver staring at me, at first glance I though wow someone dropped a 1ounce silver bullion piece. So I picked it up and flipped it over and I saw it was a Morgan
. Now I'm pumped up and I knew there was more considering I was hitting this reading over a good size area, well I ended up pulling 2 more within a foot of this one. This is one of my best days ever.
The dates are a 1878-S, 1901-S,and a 1899-O. Sadly the first one I pulled I must of hit with my shovel, you can see a good size scratch on the top right corner
