- Metal Detecting
Well the weather here in Shelbyville was beautiful today, mid 60s.
So i got out the ace 250 and decided to detect for a bit. The first place i went to i was stopped before i even got out of the car. When i pulled in at the curb if front of my destination i was met with angry stares from about 50 latinos and said to myself, i'll look elsewheres.
Next place i wanted to hit was a school playground but it was packed with kiddos.
Then i went to an old farm on the other side of town and got permission from the owner. I got the ace 250 out and turned her on and started detecting.
The first few signals i got was newer clad ( my first coins with the ace250) then got a signal that read in the quarter range at 8 inches. This got me excited and i was thinking this is something old ( it was ),
I started digging and after 10 inches of digging, nothing ( yet ). Then i said this thing is really deep and after 14 inches , bingo. I see a silverish glint and im totally excited. ( for a minute ) I get it uncovered and guess what?
To my surprise its a frigging steel beer can.
In the meantime, somehow i ended up breaking my shovel in two pieces also.
What a great day for me.
