Thanks Steve! I just got it about a month ago, and have been so busy with the new job, and the little one, just not much time. I am the fourth owner including the finder, and it's never left IL. You just don't see many authentic examples of spuds from hardstone unless you've got several thousand dollars. I've been picking up things here and there, but just not posting them. Here's the best Keokuk axe I've ever owned, and I sold a while back to Jeff H. and just bought it back last weekend. Still owe a little on it, but Jeff's a good guy and I'm very please to own it again, Thanks Jeff!

I've got a few favorites and would have to guess that it is probably in this frame but it is so hard to pick which one. What which one do you think?

I would guess maybe the effigy ones, The horse pipe or the human faced pipe or maybe the serpant carved into an axe?? Nice collection Mooch. I had to run it through a photo program to see it clearly. Any of those in publications? Nice show.

There are several of them that have picutred in different publications. Some of the banners are in the Prehistoric American, Central states, David Lutz's Bannerstone book, Knocblocks Bannerstone book. and some other places. Everypiece has full provience.

I thought they might be published. Normally you do not get to see that kinda quality in the local collectors stuff. I have a friend that collects similiar quality items. It always blows me away. Thanks for the show Mooch. You wont find that with field grade points thats for sure.

At least play fair Mooch, LOL! Always nice stuff, you know I love the discs. of coarse, but that bottle banner is AWESOME!

You would be suprised how many of these pieces were found by collectors on their first or second hunt. The bottle is a killer one of the finest ever found.

Which one is the bottle?

The bottle is the quartz bannerstone in the top center.

It's the one at 12 o'clock! Super form, and color! Outstanding high grade piece without question!

duh the one shaped like a bottle :hello: Very nice I do not see anything in that rack that isnt nice. I beleive you when you say many were found by people their first time out. My girlfriend hunted with me and said"Hey this looks like one of those things in your books",lol Nice gorget says I. Of course she has many nice frames.
