V. & A.(Simon Augustus, Comes et Nobilis Dominus Lipiae, Supremus Dominus Vianae et Ameida) refers to Simon August, the Count of Lippe, who ruled the Principality of Lippe-Detmond from 1734 until 1782. The Principality was located between the Weser Riverand the southeast part of the Teutoburg forestin Germany.

Thanks for sharing. Wow what great finds. Where did you find all this stuff? I have relatives in Riga and Libau on my grandmother's side. I wonder where the german stuff came from.There were several battles in latvia, in cluding the Courland area. My grandfather's cousin was Generaloberst Carl Hilpert, who was the last commander of Army Group Courland (in german kurland) and when the war ended, he and his men became russian prisioners of war.
