As most regular members here know Im from the UK so how on earth this coin ended up here lord only knows.

Its a 1940 coin in really excellent condtion so heres the story found in my front garden all places at around 4 inchs nice signal.

I would love to know the story so heres my version of how it got here I'm thinking second world war was it 42 or 43 America became involved.

Well I think possibly this was droped by a serving soldier from America visting his English rose and that they settled here although I will never know for sure its nice to think about the history of objects we find.

Its a lovely coin thats for sure I dont think I will ever find another one ;)

Don't worry, since every detectorist in the U.K. finds Roman coins, you will be plucking them out soon, sir!

Take care,

Nice find

There is a mint mark on the back of the dime. The pic looks like it is a "D" for the Denver mint. Located in lower left of reverse.

Thanks for sharing
