It's A modern bullet...

Called a Wad Cutter...

Civil war would most likely be whitish in color...

Nick

When do you think it was made.. ??? How old is it ??

After a second look and further investigation...

It might not be a wad cutter...or semi- wad cutter...

It looks closer to a MODERN 38. special round...

Still Modern and not that old...

I have to agree with Nick. I can see where you would think that it resembles a Three Ringer from the Civil War. But the color is definitely not right as it has no patina which would lead you to believe that it is a modern type bullet. In addition, it is hard to tell the size of the bullet from the picture. Maybe if you held it in your hand we could get a better perspective but Civil War bullets came in certain sizes that are very familar to relic hunters here in the East. IT COULD be a variation of some black powder bullet as well as alluded to. Still a cool looking piece of lead

thanks for all your input guys..

I know it is not much but i am still super happy .. my first Bullet.

This looks like a bullet one of friends found. He thought it was a civil war bullet also but it is a modern day bullet. It is the only bullet he ever found too.
