Took an hour to hunt a nearby tot lot and found my usual clad and also found this plastic treasure chest buried about 6" deep with 5 pennies inside. I can now say that I actually found a real treasure chest! Had a great chuckle when I opened it but still a cool find

:icon_thumleft: Way cool, Chug would have loved to find that! WTG!!!!!!! :icon_thumright:

Any guess about when it was buried?

I'm guessing turn of the century...lol. No, it was pretty deep for a tot lot but the oldest penny was 94 and it cleaned up really well but no telling how long, it could have been yesterday or 6 years ago.... I hunted one of the oldest parks in San Diego the other day and didn't find anything worth while, then I spend about 10 minutes running my detector over a sand volleyball court in a nearby apartment complex and found a 1958 Wheaty? Go figure.

You are indeed fortunate to have been able to find a treasure with its own chest. Most people have to get those separately.

LOL,

kewl find! It would be on my shelf!

Great find! You could fold up a dollar and replant it where you found it. That kid would flip.
