My First Civil War Buckle

I couldn't believe it when this came out of the ground today. I knew there was a possibility of finding CW artifacts on this property but I never though I would find a buckle. I can see where the back is marked W H Smith Brooklyn.




I also found some nice flat buttons today including a dandy with a zigzag design.

Thanks again for all the reply's and the suggestions of being a banner worthy find. I don't think a US buckle in this condition is rare or pristine enough to be up there with the incredible finds that have made it to the banner, but the thought is very much appreciated.

I guess you have not seen pawn stars,someone brought in the same plate,this beard of knowledge guy tells rick its fake because its round,and there were no round ones at the time, which is not true
i will say again this is a banner plate just like the rest of them that made it up top in 2 days
