Over the weekend I had the pleasure of swinging with a very diverse group of people. The talent ranged from Professional to beginner and everywhere in between.

Considering the age of the site, the finds were all over the board as well. Some of the more notable finds were a Silver colonial ring, a mid to late 1800’s silver courtship broach, a very rare Confederate CW button and a mountain of trash.

Here is my take for the weekend. Note the mountain of trash in the background.

By far my best find of the hunt was this Confederate Sword Hanger.
Funny and not so funny thing is...i found the hanger on Saturday and threw it in my pouch of trash not knowing what it was.
Sunday morning i showed my trash to the group and it was quickly recognized as something other than trash.
a special thank you goes out to Tyler McGhee for pointing it out.

A few of my other finds were pretty interesting as well.
A drilled Lutheran token dated 1917, a couple buckles a flat button marked plated and what looks like stars below it
a couple lead bail seals, a super small pair of binoculars a ring and a giant clock key.

This is the second time this has happened in the past few months. Last time it was a barber half that I mistook for a large stainless washer. This time it was the hanger. I do look at my trash before it goes into file 13 and it was because of me going thru the trash that I found the half. In the case of the hanger, I have a feeling it would have been trashed because of my lack of knowledge. On cell relics

Looks like a model T valve stem cover in that trash pile

Nice job on the hanger the first is always the hardest hope theres many more for you. Good to not discard that that's why I think its wise when people post on what's it forum. Well done. Tommy

Sweet finds, congrats! :occasion14:

Thank you for pointing that out. I did set that item aside and was going to post it online to see what it might be.
Now, all i have to do is find the rest of the car! :occasion14:
