Detector(s) used
Garrett Ace 250
Hello Everyone,
I recently bought my first metal detector (Garrett Ace 250) I went to a local playground in the new orleans area today and yesterday for about an hour each day. The end tally was 5 quarters, 1 dime, 4 nickels, and 6 pennies, I know its nothing compared to most of the great finds on this site but its a start. If anyone here metal detects in the new orleans area please message me if you are looking for someone to go metal detecting with. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. John

Did you enjoy getting out and digging?? Did you like the way that your Ace performed? Did you like the sites and weather and time to enjoy whatever you were thinking? Looks like a great day to me!!

HEY GULF CAPT25,
YOU JUST ENTERED INTO A GREAT HOBBY. MY ADVICE IS TO SPEND YOUR TIME IN THE PARKS AND LEARN YOUR 250. INVESTIGATE THOSE JUMPY READINGS TOO. THEN VENTURE OUT TO THE OLD PARTS OF TOWN WHEN YOU HAVE CONFIDENCE IN YOUR MACHINE SO YOU CAN IMPRESS YOURSELF WITH THOSE OLDER FINDS......OH, USE A GOOD PAIR OF HEADPHONES THAT COVER YOUR WHOLE HEAR........
BEST WISHES...PACO

You will love the 250, i sure do.

Don't you just love the way our modern coins fall apart when they are in the ground. Sad really, we may be the last generation of MDers that can coint shoot.

Great finds and great start, keep swinging and Happy Hunting.
