My first hunt, coins, silver, wheaties!!!!! With my AWESOME Garrett Ace 250!!

Ok, my detector arrived while I was at work. I got home at 1pm, unboxed my md, and went 5 feet out the door. Within the first 20 minutes, I found my first coin. A 1979 penny. Then i kept getting this wonderful beep, and wouldn't you know it, a 1950 quarter, then 3 wheat pennies 1935, 1945, and 1951. Also a nickel from 1956. Total for the 2 hours, 58 cents.

Nice finds! I had a similar experience on my first hunt on my lawn.

Dimes, QUarters, Half Dollars were all made of 90% silver and 10% copper through 1964, after which dimes and quarters became copper-nickel "clad". The Kennedy Half dollar coposition changed to 40% silver through 1970, when it changed to the copper-nickel "clad" as well.

$2.00 is right. Melt down might actually be a bit higher on any given day. BTW..........saw your videos on the tube.......very well done.

Nice finds!!!! I saw a pretty good looking digger at wal mart other day. Looks alot like the famous "lesche" digger. only $8 though. Dont know how strong it will be but it looks pretty thick, alot better looking than the common garden digger!!!!!! Somebody may have to try it out. It's chrome looking and has a large rubber handle. very comfy. called a Big something. can't remember the exact name. it has a groove in the end of it, weed cutter. May make a good low cost digger, I found me a lesche at the local outdoor store for $39, love it!!!!!
