My oldest coin to date. Several weeks ago that would have been that 3 cent piece. But this appears to be 1831. Starting to get the hang of this new machine i purchased from Mike. Finding things like this make it even better ! Odd thing is this was found on my brother's property. This land was part of a picnic park into maybe the 1960's or so. Why this coin was there i have no idea. Was found by a large tree. Somebody taking a break in the shade in earlier times i suppose.

Very nice find !!! ....... hope you're prepared for the long fever that follows your first !!! The next is out there waiting............ Here's to many more !

Thanks you all. Mfitzzy, its an etrac. i used to use my excal on land , i love it, it does well, but is hard around nails and such. This etrac is pulling stuff with nails in the hole. It is seeming to come together a little better now. Again, thanks and good luck all.

Great job, i hope i can find one of those soon!

Have an e-trac and an excal---Gave my son the e-trac to use around an old farm house and I used the excal---found my first and only--so far--large cent--1817--in pretty good shape. I like the excal as a dirt machine--just have to get usd to it... Thanks for the good news and good luck on future hunts

Congrats on the Old copper :hello2:
The Etrac will grab targets near the iron, slow and steady work will get you those signals! Best Digs

those e tracs are scary good and scarier priced. Nice digs. :icon_profileright:

Congrats on your first :headbang: I just found an 1831 0n Saturday. HH
