Hey guys, ive been watching the forum for awhile and joined awhile back, this is my first post/thread.

I thought I would start off with my best find's of my short metal detecting career (about 5 months worth)

The quarter I found in the historic part of springfield MO, My dad (who has been detecting for over 20 years!) has never found one :D

The Dime I found across the street from my house in a house that had been "looked out", it, a merc, a silver rosie, and about 25 wheeties.

The Indian head I found across town in a yard of a ladie who my father and I are doing a job for. Its my only IH

Gotta love those barbers!

I think my barber Quarter is a simi-rare date. In springfield its pretty rare to find them that old, especially in that condition.

Its a 1900 S

I found it on the south side

I found a chuch built in 1919, and there was a house for rent next door with nobody home, I started in the church yard and somhow ::) ended up a little ways into the yard of the for rent house when I got a penny signal.
I found the penny, covered the hole back up and NEARLY MADE A COSTLY ROOKIE MISTAKE. I almost walked away when I remembered to recheck the hole, and I got a signal of almost Half Doller! I was like "yeah right", figured it was junk, a jar lid or something, dug down about 4 more inches (5 in all) and BAM!!!! there it was, I saw the back first, the front was covered with dirt, I thought it was a standing liberty at first because I had never seen a barber quarter, until I smeared the dirt off the front :o, YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! haha, cant beat the natural high that comes with this hobby!

After that I kind of threw caution to the wind and looked over the hole rental house for like two more hours, didnt find anything but a couple wheeties. It was probably a no-no, but, Hey, I found and awsome quarter, and Im green which is sort of and excuse lol.

anyway I dont have a book to tell what its worth, so if any of you guys have an idea, I would be greatly appreciated, All the ones Ive seen from around here are worn thin like my dime or worse, this looks like it was droped a couple years out of the mint.

Nice Barber! My buddy just found a barber half in a "hunted out" wayside- he said it gave off a huge signal close to the top- others must have thought it was just a can or junk! They are still out there! Keep up the good work.

Amazing finds for your first 5 months, I wish I could be so lucky! Great job!

now all I need is a barber half, a silver doller and v-nickle and I will have a type set lol, yeah right, I doubt I will ever find a barber half, my dads only found 1 half, and it was a franklin.

Man that would be awsome, they are still out thier I suppose, and if theres one around here, IM GONNA FIND IT!!!!

I really want to find a walking liberty half, its my favorite coin design.
